Transmedia storytelling & Sherlock Homes

The character of Sherlock Holmes which commenced for the British audience gained fandom across various culture. It came into existence in literature through the medium of novel by Arther Conan Doyle and progressed towards other visual mediums of comic books, television, comic books, video games and several adaptations of motion pictures.



The character has been made relevant to generations through the use of various mediums. Although the basic nature of the character (inquisitive, intellectual) has remained intact the personality and the narrative has changed through generations to make it relevant to new generations. Through the adoption of transmedia storytelling Sherlock homes still remains relevant to the audience today.
